Privacy Policy
RecentFollowTool helps users look up available public Instagram profile information. This policy explains what personal information we process, why we process it, which providers receive it, how long we keep it, and the rights available to you.
Effective date: July 12, 2026
1. Who controls your information
RecentFollowTool, available at https://www.recentfollowtool.com, is the data controller for personal information processed through this service. Privacy requests may be sent to support@recentfollowtool.com.
This policy applies to the RecentFollowTool website, account features, public-profile lookup tools, billing pages, and related support. It does not govern Instagram, Google, Waffo Pancake, or other third-party services, which publish their own privacy terms.
2. Information we collect
Account and authentication information: your name, email address, optional profile image, email-verification status, encrypted or hashed password credentials, Google sign-in identifiers if you choose Google, session identifiers, IP address, browser or device information, and account timestamps.
Lookup and service information: the public Instagram username, handle, profile URL, or public account identifier you submit; available public profile, follower, and following results; lookup timestamps; pagination state; credit use; and technical, performance, security, and error logs.
Billing and support information: the product selected, price and currency, order, subscription, invoice, payment status, provider customer identifiers, refund status, and messages you send to support. Waffo Pancake collects and processes payment-card details on its checkout; full card numbers do not pass through or remain on our servers.
Analytics information: product events such as page views, sign-in, lookup, checkout, billing-portal, and error events, together with device, browser, approximate location derived from IP, and referral information collected by PostHog.
3. Public Instagram information
We send the public username, handle, profile URL, or account identifier in a lookup to SocialAPI so the service can return available public Instagram profile context. We do not ask for or receive your Instagram password, sign in to your Instagram account, bypass private accounts, perform actions on Instagram, or notify the searched profile.
Public profile and list information can change at any time. Results are a temporary snapshot of available public data and are not proof of the exact date or time that an account followed another account.
4. How and why we use information
We process account, lookup, credit, and billing information to provide the service, authenticate users, deliver purchased features, manage subscriptions, and respond to support requests. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you.
We process limited usage, device, network, and log information to keep the service reliable, understand feature use, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our policies, and diagnose errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and protecting the service.
We process transaction, tax, compliance, and valid legal-request information where necessary to meet a legal obligation. If we later introduce an optional use that requires consent, we will request that consent separately and you may withdraw it at any time.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Strictly necessary cookies and browser storage support account sessions, security and human-verification checks, checkout return flows, and core application state. Disabling them may prevent account or paid features from working.
We also use PostHog for product analytics and error monitoring. PostHog may use cookies or similar identifiers. You can limit non-essential cookies through your browser settings. We do not use advertising pixels or marketing cookies at this time.
6. When we share information
We disclose only the information needed for our providers to perform their services: Cloudflare for hosting, network security, caching, and Turnstile human verification; Neon for database infrastructure; Google when you choose Google sign-in; SocialAPI for public-profile lookups; PostHog for analytics and error monitoring; and Waffo Pancake for checkout, payment, subscription, invoice, customer-portal, and refund processing.
We may also disclose information when required by law or a valid legal process; to investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; to protect users, the service, or others; or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to continued privacy protections and notice where required.
We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use payment information for unrelated purposes.
7. Security
We use HTTPS encryption in transit, restricted access, server-side secrets, hashed password credentials, signed session and verification data, payment-provider signature checks, and abuse-prevention controls. No security measure is perfect, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we discover a breach that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities without undue delay and within the time required by applicable law. You should protect your RecentFollowTool credentials and never share your password.
8. How long we keep information
Public lookup responses are cached only to operate and protect the service: list responses are generally cached for about 2 minutes and basic profile responses for about 15 minutes. Security, request, and analytics logs are generally retained for up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed to investigate abuse or an incident.
Account information is kept while your account is active. After a valid deletion request, we delete or de-identify account information within 30 days where practicable; encrypted backups may retain residual copies for up to 90 additional days.
Billing, credit, order, refund, and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years where needed for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legal obligations. Support correspondence is generally retained for up to 3 years. When a retention period ends, we delete, de-identify, or securely archive the information as required by law.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal information; receive a portable copy; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision. Send a request from your account email to support@recentfollowtool.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.
We will respond within 30 calendar days or the shorter period required by applicable law. Some information may be exempt from a request or retained to complete transactions, prevent fraud, protect legal rights, or meet legal obligations. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
10. Marketing communications
We do not currently send promotional marketing communications. Account, payment, security, policy, and support messages are service communications required to operate your account. If we introduce marketing messages, we will provide a clear opt-in where required and an easy way to unsubscribe.
11. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws from your country.
Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, we use appropriate contractual and organizational measures, such as the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, an adequacy decision, or another legally recognized transfer mechanism.
12. Children
RecentFollowTool is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, email support@recentfollowtool.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
13. Third-party links and services
The service may link to or integrate with third-party websites. Their collection and use of information is governed by their own privacy policies. Review those policies before providing information to a third party.
14. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service or law changes. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice through the site or your account email at least 15 days before it takes effect when reasonably possible. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
